This is the start of our journey at school and it should be a safe, caring and nurturing environment which is what Orchard Primary School Nursery provides.

We develop our little pupil’s minds to see, talk about and question the world around them and we approach this with inside and out activities. Learning in the Early Years begins with social interaction with peers and adults. Learning to play and share and to develop our individuality and independence.

We carefully plan activities every day in each of the areas of learning to encourage, stimulate and challenge our Nursery children.

As well as activities taking place in the classroom and in our outdoor area, the children also take part in Forest School, computing in the ICT Suite, PE and cooking.

To find out more about our class and what activities we have been undertaking on a daily basis then please take a look at the details below. This page will be regularly updated with new material so please keep checking back for new information.

Grandparents Day

Nursery & Reception invited grandparents to attend school today.

Tea and cakes were served before our pupils took their grandparents on a tour of the school.

This was a wonderful opportunity for our pupil's extended family to come and see what a day in the life of their grandchildren involves. Some were amazed how technology plays a big part and they also saw how hard even Nursery & Reception pupils work and progress at Orchard.

Orpington Park

Nursery have been reading a book called 'Aaarrgghh Spider! by Lydia Monks.

It's about a Spider that wants to be a family pet. But the family whose house she lives in are terrified of her. Whenever she tries to show them what a great pet she would make, they simply cry: ”AAAARRGGHH, Spider!”

So Nursery, went to Orpington Park to find spiders and other minibeasts. Whilst there they looked for signs of Spring, fed the ducks and had a picnic.
