Our teachers recognise that we learn in different ways and are also helping prepare us for our key stage 2 SATs. The work is challenging and they have high expectations of us, but we also enjoy our learning and will rise to challenges so that we have a successful final year at Orchard.

In Year 6 we are continuing to read "Wonder".
We have focused on a situation in the text in which August overhears his friend Jack saying unkind things about him .
We have thought about what motivates people to say unkind things: resentment, jealousy and peer pressure as well as the effect on the person being talked about.
Year six have been thinking about what they could do if they are feeling angry.
They made some fortune tellers with lots of practical ways of dealing with anger in a positive way
After our trip to the library yesterday, year six enjoyed a delicious book breakfast this morning
Year six are visiting the library this half term.
We are learning how to find and check out books and the other services offered by the library !
We checked out a total of 40 books - enough to keep us busy for the next two weeks.
