Equality and Diversity objectives 2016 -2020


Orchard Primary School is committed to meeting its public sector duties and acknowledges that we have a statutory duty to:
• Eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
• Promote equality of access and opportunity within our school and within our wider community.
• Promote positive attitudes to difference and good relationships between people with different backgrounds, genders, cultures, faiths, abilities and ethnic origins.

Objective
The needs of users are taken into account when developing policies and procedures.
Review and update the School reward system which forms a part of the behaviour policy.
Success Criteria
School Policies including Staff policies such as Recruitment, and Sickness Absence, reflect the needs of users
New reward system in place to celebrate all pupil achievement across the school

Objective
Robust systems for monitoring pupil progress in place and monitored regularly.
To support and broaden opportunities for vulnerable families
Success Criteria
Data analysis shows equality of attainment/progress for all
2. Identify groups and individuals at risk of underachievement and plan intervention.
Vulnerable families, accessing pupil premium funding, accessing a broad range of support to include access to extra-curricular activities

Objective
To develop pupil understanding of tolerance and respect for others through the promotion of British values
Success Criteria
Children exposed to different cultures, faiths, religions through first hand experiences and through the use of varied resources
