The school came together to celebrate the achievements of our pupils over the Autumn term.
Watch our video to see what amazing trips, curriculum days and other events we have taken part in.
Orchard was once again privileged to have members from pupil’s family, friends or from the local community visit us and discuss their careers.
This was a whole school event which took place for the day. Most schools would hold this event in Secondary schools only, but why wait to see what opportunities and career paths are out there.
Orchard Primary pupils are fortunate that our community comes into school to give them a taste of what their jobs involve and that thorough hard work you can achieve what you wish to be.
There was a varied selection of professionals who gave us their time to talk and demonstrate their job roles. It was a very busy day and one which the pupils enjoy to participate in. The police and fire brigade are always popular but this year we had a cricket coach and the manager of Waitrose amongst the visitors.
Thank you to all who gave their time and to Miss Little for arranging this event.
The Choir had a treat this week. Miss Hale, who has returned from her exciting travels in Nigeria, came to visit!
The Choir are taking part in a project with her, called 'Go back to school'.
We will be involved in fund raising to help a Nigerian child return to school - the money will fund their school fees, uniform and stationery.
Miss Hale had her guitar with her and we had good fun leaving the 'Go back to school song'. The choir have lots of ideas about how to raise money... so watch this space!
KS1 held their Nativity play for all the parents/carers and family members today.
After weeks of rehearsing the moment finally arrived.
Our angels, sherpherds, stars and cast members jumped on stage and vowed the audience.
The story began with an angel called Daisy, aka Whoops a Daisy to her friends.
Nothing went right for her until the moment she had to help the three wise kings find baby Jesus.
You know the story from there!
Christmas is fast approaching!
At this time of year most of us are stressing about presents and turkeys but not Mrs Gwillam.
No, this is a very busy time as the choir goes into over drive. From carols in the local churches, singing on the drive and yes of course
Carols by Candlelight!
This is a very popular event as it is not only entertaining but it is interactive for all.
The choir, led by Mrs Gwillam, warms everyone up with festive songs. Then it is the finale of "A Partridge
in a Pear Tree".
Thank you to all who attended, it helps us to raise funds
and it brings Orchard Primary community together.
Merry Christmas to all!
